Post at Cricut Fanatics today

Today I am doing a post at Cricut Fanatics. I created a card using the new Creative Cards cartridge. I had to wait till I could put it in my Gypsy to use it. I customized the card in Gypsy as well to be the size I needed.
I size the card base in the Gypsy at 10 x 7 inches.  This is the 9th card on the brochure instuctions.
I folded the card at the marks.  I did not add the layer piece so that I could use the white front.
I cut the flowers for the outside at 4.84 x 5.00 inches and the leaves at 5.21 x 5.00.  The flower for the inside is cut at 2.34 x 2.41 and the leaves at 2.51 x 2.41.  I put the flower on the front together with fabric plaid brad and used a jewel on the inside flower.
The black strip was cut at 7 inches to fit the front of the card and is one inch wide. I attached the flower
The banner on the card with the stamped Happy Birthday is from the 10th card and I cut them at 3.5 and 4 inches.  I am not sure what the stamp is, but had it in my stash.
I added a strip on the bottom of the card to match the front and stamped a verse from some Close to My Heart stamps. The pattern paper was something in my stash and not sure what it is. The card stock is Michaels.

Scrapbook Room with Updates

Welcome to my scraproom. I have posted pictures of it in the past, but after getting tons more stuff, I needed more storage. Actually I need a larger room but since that is not happening anytime soon, I have changed some things to make it work.  I have no space on walls left or any floor space, but it is all mine.  I would like to share my room with you.  My husband and I made severals things in the room ourselves.
These are some shelves Joe made for my wood stamps.  They were full of all wood stamps, but I cleaned out some I did not use and are now using some space for glitters and embossing powders.  I have a 8 ft wood space counter there and some cabinets we bought and painted from Lowe's.
This is the new storage we got.  10 new cubes from Michaels and a new workstation we made which I will show in other pictures
Where you see my cartridges stored was a old "press".  We live in an older home and they had these little closets that were so small you just press stuff in them and shut the door.  We removed the door added an old bookcase and framed around it with crown moulding.  The cartridges are two rows deep except for the top shelf.  The black rack with ribbon was the first storage we built for my cartridges which I quickly outgrew and you can see they are starting on a small bookcase now where I keep my laptop.
This is the other side of the room where I have 29 more storage units and a shelf on the wall.  The door has a rack for punches.  The top of the units have stuff stored there too.  Everything is full too!
Another look at those cabinets.  Carstock is stored by color and pattern paper too.
I have two of these rolled carts with stuff and the white cabinet is a delux unit I got at Michaels and the sides will come up for more work area, but no room to do that lol.  I have a file unit on the top where I store my larger cardstock pieces.  I had my husband put rollers on it so I can move it.
This is the new work area we made.  It was a 4 ft piece of counter I had and we made this shelf unit and on the other end is a 12 inch cabinet.  We just made this so it is not filled up yet lol.
Another look at the work area and I keep my Cricut and Gypsy there and my Ott light I got for $5 new in box!
We put some board on the sides and from and then I papered it with bead board wall paper I had left over from my dining room, looks like real beadboard too!
This is the 8 ft counter where I keep my cutter and work on stuff.  In the background you can see punches.  That was another door that was not being used and we made shelves in it for storing.
Wall with stamps and stuff grandchildren gave me and things I have made to keep.
This is where I have my ipod in the speaker docker and listen to music while I work. I made the Create sign and had that in my store.  The wall shelf is somethig we found at a garage sale and painted.  I have my CTMH ink pads stored there.  Hope you enjoyed my little tour of my scraproom .

Exploring Cricut Daily Project

Welcome! Today I have the daily project at Exploring Cricut and I am so behind in my scrapping. I have both of the granddaughters 2010 albums completed, but not quite on my grandson Cameron's. You might be seeing some of his pages on the blog while I am finishing. This is when we took him and his sister to the Balloon Race we had in our town and they took a balloon ride, of course not up to high! I used the cartridges Pop Up Neighborhood for the two balloons cut at 3.5 and 4.5 inches. I used Everyday Pop Up Cards for the other balloon with the flag on it cut at 2.5 inches. I added stickles to it. The paper is from Echo Park and cardstock Michaels and American Crafts.  Thanks for stopping by today.  This week I will be posting some new pictures of my craft room.  I have added some more storage and a new work station.  My husband said there is no more walls and no more space so unless this room grows somehow, this is it!  Be sure to enter our Father's Day Challenge over at Exploring Cricut this week too!

Tuesday Daily Project at Exploring Cricut

Welcome! Today I have a project over at my other blog Exploring Cricut. In keeping with our theme this week I created a ice cream treat box using the the Sweet Treats cartridge. This was a super simple project and I used scraps for the entire thing!  Nice when you can use stuff you already have!  I cut the box at 5.25 inches and I used the cuttlebug folders Divine Swirl and Houndstooth for the top of the cone.  I attached the handle with pink pearl brads.  These would be great for a birthday party with lots of good treats.  Be sure to enter our challenge over at Exploring Cricut this week too!

Challenge time at Exploring Cricut

You scream, I scream, we all scream for ice cream! Yea, it is National Dairy month in June and at Exploring Cricut we have a challenge. You are to make a card, layout or papercraft using some form of ice cream or popsicle. Link your project by Saturday, June 8 and you must follow guidelines on blog page side bar, just use your cricut and cricut cartridges. For my project I made a layout of my two favorite little girls, Mary-Kate and Peyton, my beautiful granddaughters. They love ice cream so much and when Mary-Kate came for her birthday sleepover, we went to the dairy queen. I used the cartridges Sweet Shop and Chalkboard Font which is available to try for free in Cricut Craft Room. Even though I do not care for CCR, sorry PC, love everything else, I tried it. I used the extended font and shadow, but glad I did not do small letters with all the pieces that had to be glued, but I did like it.  Sorry for glare on picture, but has been cloudy here the last couple days and hard to get a good picture.  Below are the details. Please join us for the challenge.  Stop by and see all the great projects the DT created for your inspiration.
Directions:
Sweet Shop-ice cream cones cut at 4.5 inches.  I ran the tops through the divine swirl cuttlebug folder and I ran the bottom cone through the houndstooth folder.
Chalkboard Font- used Extended font and shadow cut at 2 inches and I highlighted the small pieces around the letters with yellow stickles.
Paper-Stampin Up
Cardstock-Stampin Up and Recollections
Punch-Martha Stewart
Cuttlebug Folders-Houndstooth and Divine Swirl
Other Materials-stickles, and chalk
