Missing in Action!

I promise to get back to posting some projects, but this week I am enjoying my granddaughter who is staying with me while her sitter recovers from some surgery. I am really enjoying her too and I sure am tired at night after playing all day with an almost 3 year old. We sing, dance, and blow bubbles along with playing at the water table and swinging . She is really fun. So I will be back to posting soon and I am doing some crafting in the evenings, but all the stuff I am doing I have been donating to a worthwhile event happening this weekend and not taking time to take pictures. Hopefully the pages and cards I have donated with help a single mom with cancer and two sick children with some extra money.

Tuesday Daily Project at Exploring Cricut

Welcome! I have the daily project at Exploring Cricut. I love going to thrift stores and finding things I can redo. I found this unfinished tray for 1.50 and snatched it up! I started by base painting with black. I then had a paper package of brown patterns from Recollections that I got at Michaels and I used two different patterns and some tan cardstock for the inside of the tray. I cut my title Grandchildren from the Cricut American Alphabet, matted my pictures of my little angels, cut 3 flowers from Art Philosophy, the butterfly from Indie Art and keeping with our challenge used a cartridge that has been neglected Pictureque for the leaves. Below the pictures are the measurements. I inked the leaves and flowers with Colorbox chalks and the pearls are from Recollections too! Exploring Cricut Challenge

The challenge at Exploring Cricut this week is to use a cartridge that you bought and said why did I buy this or one that you purchased and neglected to use. We all are guilty of this. Well in my case, I am using the defense that I got it because it was only $10 on ebay! I will always get them if I can buy them for that price. Well old Spongebob Squarepants is one of those cartridges. Now I have grandchildren but none are into Spongebob. My grandson was when he was little, but he is 14 and the girls ages 9 and almost 3 are total Princess girls. But once I made myself use this for the challenge, I am loving it and will make birthday cards and other pages with it. I think the characters are so adorable and I do have some old pictures of my grandson I might have to rescrap!! Apple Cider Slider

I had a little time today to work on my granddaughter Mary-Kate's album that I am way behind in and had fun making this page. This was at a orchard that had a slide and she loved it. Her Papaw and cousin even got their time going down it. I used the cartridges Recess, Hello Kitty Font, Playground digital, and Paper Dolls for Everyday. Below the pictures are the details.

Playground digital- I cut the slide at 7.5 inches and cut two of them. I trimmed the sides off one and ran the other through a crimper and then popped up the sides I had cut.

Finally something to post

I haven't posted in a few days, but I have been working on some projects for the upcoming challenges at Exploring Cricut. I have been battling a bad sinus headache for a few days and my allergies are driving me crazy so I am only doing a little bit at a time. I can't take anything because it all knocks me out! Now for my project today. We stopped at Bath and Body over the weekend because my husband likes some mens body products they carry and the little bag was just too cute to throw out! I am the queen of saving stuff to recycle so I decided this could be turned into a cute gift bag and card with just a little paper scraps and my trusty Cricut. I used the cartridges Pop Up Neighborhood, Walk in my Garden, Fancy Frames, Stamping, Wedding, and Stretch Your Imagination. Below the pictures are the cuts.

Teen birthday card

My grandson is going to be 14 on Monday and I need to make a card. I really struggle with men and boys cards. I have not trouble with little guys, but my Cameron is at that age. I made this one, but still unsure if I am going to keep it. I might try another thing tomorrow. I just recently got Paper Dolls Teen Scene and wanted to use it. I was surprised how easy these went together and all the layers make the dolls pretty sturdy. I picked the one with the longer hair since he has long hair. He gets teased that he looks like Justin Beiber which he does not like at all! I used Doodletype for the numbers and I computered the Happy Birthday. I made the doll 6.75 inches.

Mother's Day Card

Today I have been working on cards and one was a Mother's Day Card. I am making a few this year for special people who are mothers in our family. I need to also get a birthday card ready for my grandson so maybe that will get posted next! I love the pitcher of flowers on the Country Life cartridge and have seen a few cards made with it, but this is my take. I made this a 5 x 7 card and custom sized the white doily for the layer at 4.75 inches x 6.75 inches and cut from the Cake Basics cartridge. The picture and flowers were cut at 6.25 inches in the shadow and other layers from Country Life. I double cut the flowers and popped them with pop dots. I added some Kaiser Crafts pearls. The pattern paper is a scrap from Recollections and all the cardstock is scraps too except for the card base. The Mother's Day stamp was from EK Success. Thanks for looking . I will be entering this card into Fantabulous Cricut challenge and Cricutcardz challenge at Cardztv.
