Happy Valentine's Day! Today, I have the daily project at Exploring Cricut. I created a card that I will be giving to my husband today. I used the cartridges Ribbon and Rosettes, Flower Shoppe, and Art Philosophy. Below are the details and what I used.

New challenge at Exploring Cricut!

This weeks challenge at Exploring Cricut is called "It's So Sweet". The challenge can be anything using candies, hearts, cupids, love,sweets or anything showing your love! It does not have to be Valentines. Use whatever colors you would like, but you must have fun!! I did a candy box for my husband for his Valentine. I used the cartridges Sweethearts, Ribbon and Rosettes, and Art Philosophy. Below the pictures are the details. Can't wait to see your creations!

Been working on a few simple Valentines for the grandchildren and here is one using the digital cartridge Valentine Sweets and Martha Stewart Seasonal Cake Art. The little bear is so cute and was cut at 4.5 inches for all layers and the scallop heart was cut from the Martha Stewart at 5 inches. My cardstock was Bazzill and the card was cut 6 x 6. I used a little stickles and some pop dots and came out with a fun card.

Exploring Cricut Thursday Post

Hope you all are having a great week. I am filling in today at Exploring Cricut and I put together this cute treat box using the cartridges Sweet Tooth Boxes and flowers cut from Art Philosophy. The box was cut at 8 inches and I did the square box with the heart lid. I put some acrylic over the heart. The flowers were cut at 3 inches and inked and Kaiser Craft red pearls added to the center. This was a quick and simple project to put together. I used Teresa Collins Cupid paper and cardstock from Bazzill. The ribbon was something in my stash.

I am also entering this in Fantabulous Cricuts challenge this week.

Well, I still am blocked, but I said I was going to finish something and I did. I plan on working today on some other stuff too. I am forcing myself to get it together lol. I know we have all been there. This is a cute little treat box I created using the Sweet Tooth Boxes. It is the square box cut at 8 inches and I used the square lid so I could decorate the top. The flowers are cut at assorted sizes from Flower Shoppe in the heart shape. I also used Ribbons and Rosettes for the border on the side of the box and cute the scallop border 1 x 6 and used 4 pieces and trimmed it. The paper is some from my stash of Teresa Collins Crush Cupids and I used a punch for the swirls on the top. I also used a button brad from my collection.

Here I sit in my wonderful craft room with 4 unfinished projects sitting in front of me waiting on me to finish them. I do not seem to have any crafting mojo going on right now. Not sure what is the problem, but it better get fixed soon. Two of the projects I have been working on for a week have been on the blogs in a similar form so I guess that makes all of us crafty people think alike! Today I will let my mind rest, but tomorrow I will make myself finish something and do a post with a craft. I need two projects for next week for our Exploring Cricut blog so I better get to it. See you tomorrow with a project ( I hope).

I have reorganized my scraproom with Michaels help!

I ask for Michaels gift certificates for Christmas and my birthday or storage units. My children are glad I am easy to buy for so they got me the gift certificates. I had a large cardstock rack from where I closed my scrapbook store, but the paper was held in the rack with plastic pieces and after so many years and lots of use, it started falling apart so one day we had a bunch of cardstock all over the floor! I started cleaning and reorganizing and then after Christmas I went and got storage units. Everything is now labeled and put in the place where I know where it is and what I have! That makes crafting so easy. A couple weeks ago I was eyeing the large craft center Michaels had and waited till they put it 40% off and went to get it. Took a few hours to get it together, but it was much bigger than I thought, but I love it! I still have to find the file folders that go into the file cabinet in it. I have gone to 3 Michaels and have not found them yet. This is where my larger pieces of scrap cardstock will be filed by colors. I wish I had a larger space even though this is a big room, but I have what I need. No more wall or floor space can be used! lol I love having the 6 and 8 ft counters to use too. Thanks for looking at my space

My new storage cabinet, the sides come up and it will reach up 61 inches long.

but it is not crafting! lol I have been cleaning and reorganizing my scraproom this week. I still have to go back to Michaels Saturday for some more storage cubes but it is coming along great! This has been the perfect opportunity for me to get rid of some items I no longer use and put everything in a proper spot. I am labeling drawers and sorting through the junk. I guess I am doing a early Spring cleaning. I am going to get this finished so I can craft on Sunday!!! I have several things listed on ebay and my seller name is dianek if anyone is interested. I will put pictures up as soon as it is finished. I have pictures on there now of how it did look so now I will do some after. This weeks challenge at Papercutz is "All Hearts Come Home for Christmas". Make a card, layout or papercraft using hearts and use any colors you would like. I decided on a card and I used the hearts from George Basic Shapes. I cut 3 hearts at 1.5 inches and 1 heart at 1.25 inch. I inked the edges with white and positioned them into a Christmas Tree. I used some Queen and Co jewels to adorn it. I also used Bazzill cardstock and I embossed the white with my Cuttlebug. Fast and easy card! Please join us this week with your creation.

Exploring Cricut Challenge

Today is a new challenge at Exploring Cricut and the challenge is to make a card, layout, or papercraft using a sled or sleigh from any cricut cartridge! This is really a fun challenge and the DT did a fabulous job with their creations! I decided to make the sleigh from Winter Woodlands and turn into a display piece. Below the pictures are my directions. Can't wait to see what you create for this challenge!

Direction:

Sled cut at 6 inches (2) one in reverse

I cut it out of heavy cardstock and also cut chipboard to make it more stable. I made a box just by cutting pieces of cardstock and folding them into a box shape for the inside. No special measurements, just to the size you need.

This weeks challenge is called Jingle all the Way! You are to make a card, layout or craft project using a stamped, digital, or Cricut cut of a image of Jingle Bells. I decided on a card using the Joys of the Season Cartridge of the Bell on page57 cut at 2.5 inches. I made the card using the ornament card cut at 5 inches. The holly was cut at 1.25 inches and was from the cartridge Stretch Your Imagination and Joy was cut at 1 inch and was from Winter Woodland. Let us see what you can create with this challenge. Tuesday's Daily Project at Exploring Cricut

I have the project today over at Exploring Cricut and I made a couple of gift boxes and the bows for them. I used the new digital cartridge 3D Bows and Art Philosophy Close to my Heart cartridge. I created the bow in the Cricut Craft Room. I will be glad when my digital images I purchase go to the Gypsy because I like using it better, but am giving the Craft Room a chance!
These boxes are perfect for small gifts. Below is the directions and measurements I used. I will say the bow on the smaller package needs to be cut bigger because it was a little harder to do, but you are seeing my first two bows using the digital images. Be sure to join our challenge this week too!

This is the smaller of the two boxes and I cut it at 9 inches from page 22 using the font layer shift key of Art Philosophy . The bow was done in CCR measurements 4 x 4.11 inches. in

3D Bows digital images. I used some paper from Fancy Pants and cardstock for package and bow.

This box is larger and will hold a scarf or some candy. Nice size really. It is cut at fit to page which was 10.5 inches. I used the Art Philosophy cartridge page 28 font layer shift key. The bow was done in CCR and was cut width 10 inches height 5 inches. with the 3D Bows digital cartridge. This one was much easier to do.

We have a new challenge at Exploring Cricut and we would love for you to join us! The challenge is to create a card, layout, or papercraft using a Turkey image from any Cricut cartridge in any color or theme! I created a 2 page layout using the Thanksgiving cartridge. I cut the title at 4 inches, turkey at 4.5 inches and the leaves at 1.5 and 2.25 inches. I used bazzill cardstock and a piece of paper from my stash. Let us see your creations and a chance to win a prize!

It's time for another challenge at PaperCutz. This challenge is called, "Let's Talk Turkey". You are to make a card, layout, or papercraft using a stamped, digital, or Cricut cut image of a turkey. Use any colors you like. I decided on making a wreath with my turkey. I used the cartridges Paper Dolls Dressup and Simply Charmed for my project. Below are directions. Hope you enjoy and stop over and check out the other DT members projects.
Directions:
I used assorted patterns of Fall papers from a DCWV stack that I had along with cardstock scraps. This was made of entirely scraps from my stash.

Pinwheels-cut strips from 1 to 3 inches, scored and put together in circle. I used hot glue to secure them.

Nothing to share but....

I am working on several projects I will be sharing in the next few days. I have been trying to create in the new Cricut Craftroom. I have been playing and I have to say, I am still not a fan! I loved DS and I love the Gypsy, but not this yet. I do like the fact that you can get a few digital images even though I think they are a little pricy and they are suppose to link to your Gypsy. I did watch the HSN premiere of the Cricut Mini, but not something I am jumping on. How many machines does one person need??? I will just spend my money on cartridges. I did get the cake machine cheap and it arrived yesterday. I used some of those Wilton sheets to cut with and they worked, but not a fan of those. I am still undecided whether I made a mistake or not, but either way the Cake Boss and Duff have no worries about me taking over their cake business any time soon. I can always add the deep cut blade and use as a cricut if one bites the dust! Hope you are having a good week, too much rain here for me!

My Scrap Space

I have had a few people ask me about my scraproom so I thought I would make it at least presentable and take a few pictures of where I do my thing! I live in a old house so not many electrical outlets but lots of power strips going on in here. My husband says he is worried everyday he comes home that one of the walls have caved in. There is no free space in this room and it is not small, it is a 13 x 19 room, but full. One of these days we will finally sell and I am getting a house where my dream room will be or we will build it ourselves! Here is a little tour of where I work!
This is a 8 foot counter and cabinets I got at Lowes. As you see there is no space not used. I have two cabinets on the wall for stamp pads, flowers etc. and a small one for embossing and glitter powders along with a stickles rack. I had that in my store I closed.

Another look at that space. I also do my major cutting there too.

Since I do not waste space, I had my husband fix the space between the cabinets for storage of my clear stamps and a few accessories. We still have to buy the roller bars so it will pull out and I need to paint them, but I already have it stuffed!

This is a 6 foot counter area where I have my cuttlebug and spellbinder dies along with my laptop and picture boxes I am currently working on. You can see my wood stamps in the background.

This is my wood stamps that are not sets. My husband built these for me and I have several hundred wood stamps and the shelves are full!

Being an old house, this was a door that went between bedrooms. When we remodeled the main bedroom, we build a wall where the door was and on this side we built shelves that house my cricut cartridges. Not sure what I am going to do when this is full, not much room left!

Another view and the door you enter where I store my punches. I am cheap so I bought curtain rods to hold them and I also have a basket of ones that will not fit. Beside the cricut cartridges is a small shelf that holds my cartridges like seasonals and solutions that I have in boxes from scraponizer, but need to paint shelf.

My cardstock rack. It came from Bazzill and I had it in my store. It was a job getting my husband to agree to move it, but he quickly gave in! I do have my ways to do that lol. I also have several of the cubes from Michaels on the side of it too.

Another thing in an old house, no closets. This room had a press. They were not very deep and you had to push stuff in and press the door shut! We took the door off, and put a book case in it and secured it to the back wall. Then we added moulding around and looks like a built in which I have completely full!

This is where I work. I made a desk from 8 cubes from Michaels and we went to lowes and found two tops and put them together. I also made another small desk from 4 cubes and another top to put my cricut on.

Great challenge at Papercutz this week!

This week at Papercutz the challenge is called "Gobble Gobble" and you are to make a card, layout, or papercraft incorporating a recipe for one of your favorite Thanksgiving dishes. I decided to make a recipe board. I love thrift stores so I found this frame and told my husband to get me a piece of tin cut to fit. I painted the frame black and the tin white. I made the magnets from cricut and copied my favorite recipe on a card. Below are pictures and the directions along with this yummy recipe for Pumpkin Roll Cupcakes. This is the finished project of my recipe and these are so good too and easier than pumpkin roll.

I found this cupcake pan from Debbie Meyer that has this thing that makes the holes in the cupcake while it bakes. Makes it so easy to fill!

Recipe for Pumpkin Roll Cupcakes

4 eggs 1 2/3 cup sugar

1 c. oil 15 oz can pumpkin

2 c. flour 2 tsp. baking powder

2 tsp cinnamon 1 tsp salt

1 tsp baking soda

Preheat oven 350. Mix eggs, sugar, oil, and pumpkin, beat till fluffy. In another bowl, mix flour,

baking powder, salt,cinnamon and soda. Add dry ingredients to pumpkin mixture. Bake 20 minutes till done. Makes 24 cupcakes.

Frosting

4 oz cream cheese softened

1 stick butter softened

2 cups powdered sugar

1 tsp vanilla

Mix together till smooth, fill holes in center of cupcakes when cool and add frosting to top.

Note** sometimes I make batch and half of frosting because I like it stuffed!

My granddaughter Katie age 8 years old went to see Taylor Swift in concert Saturday night and they took some pictures. I got them late on Sunday so spent Monday putting her a little book together to take to her on Tuesday. I used the cartridges Quarter Note and Hannah Montana. I did the book from Bind It All and I modge podge the cover since it would be handled quite a bit with her enjoying the pictures from her concert evening. She really liked this book even though her Nana put it together quickly!!

I did not get to post anything yesterday because I was so busy doing a project I needed to take with me today to visit my oldest granddaughter. I will be posting it tomorrow, but I did do a quick,(well thought it would be) card using Cars cartridge. I cut my image and layers at 4.75 which was still small for some parts, but thought it turned out ok. I have used the cartridges for some items in racing pages, but never used the characters before.

Altered Project for Saturday

I love going to garage sales and thrift stores because you never know what you will find. On the way home from visiting the grandchildren last weekend, my husband ask me if I wanted to stop..well duh yea! I found this wood box and an idea popped into my head after I found out the size was correct. When my olderest granddaughter was little, we bought her at a craft fair a box to keep her coloring books and crayons in and I thought this might make a nice one for my youngest granddaughter. In this picture you see it is still dirty, but it turned out great with a little cleaning and paint! I paid $1.50 for it. As I was looking around the store, here comes my husband with his arms loaded with stuff, you will see those in later projects, he is hooked!

I painted it with brown paint, which took a couple coats, I used some vinyl that I got from Expressions Vinyl in two colors of pink and green. I cut flowers from the Create a Critter cartridge and her name from the Hello Kitty Font cartridge. I got to digging in my craft stuff and found an unfinished pencil box from Kaiser Crafts and I gave it a coat of the same brown paint. On this I used cardstock for the letters and modge podge it because I figured it would get handled more with crayons in it.

Now this can go on her table so she can color and keep all her supplies handy! I hope she likes it.

You never know what you might find at the flea markets, yard sales, or thrift stores. I went again yesterday and came home with a bunch of cool stuff to alter for just $7.00....more projects in mind! Be sure to sign up to receive email when I do new projects!

PaperCutz Challenge #115

Todays challenge at PaperCutz is to use lots of leaves in a card, layout or papercraft without using the colors blue or green. I decided on a card for this project using the Art Philosophy cartridge and stamps. I also used some background paper from my stash in the Oliva line of Close to My Heart. I cut the leaves at 2 inches and stamped them with ink that made a tone on tone effect. I also had some little leaves cut from cricut I added. I used a punch from EK Success and cardstock from Bazzill. The stamp for the sentiment is from Hero Arts. A new card

Today I thought I would do a card in a style I saw in the new Cardmaking and Papercraft magazine. It is a British magazine that I love and not sure how I stumbled on getting a subscription, but so glad I did. It is really a cool magazine and you get freebies with each issue. I just cut my card 5.5 x 5.5 and then I cut a circle from my cricut fit to page to use as my guideline. For the top piece I cut it 5.25 x 5.25 and did the same thing. I made a template to keep out of chipboard to use for future cards. I used the paper from Close to My Heart in the Oliva collection, a leaf stamp from Hero Arts and ink from Close to My Heart. I stamped the leafs on some matching paper in the line and cut them out.

Fall Scrapbook Pages

I need to challenge myself to create something each day if I have time. Today I did this two page layout for my granddaughter Mary-Kate's album from 2010 I am working on. With 3 grandchildren I am never caught up. I used some Close to my Heart paper called Oliva and the stamps that came with the kit. I also used the Cricut Alphabet for the title. I worked on some challenge projects for the blogs I contribute too, so I feel like I got something finished! Now we will see if I post tomorrow lol.

Tuesday's Daily Project for Exploring Cricut

Today I have the daily project for Exploring Cricut and I created Fall blocks to decorate my mantle using the cartridge Cricut Alphabet that came with the new Expression 2 machine. I love this alphabet because it looks so elegant. The directions for this project are under the pictures. Be sure to stop by Exploring Cricut daily for new projects and join our challenge this week!

I had my husband cut wood blocks 3.5 x 4 x 1 inch and sand really good so that we had no rough edges. I based coated with brown paint and let dry. I cut paper to fit each block, front and back.

The paper I used was from a $1.00 package we picked up at Target last year and I used Modge Podge to adhere the paper to the wood block. A good tip I found was to lightly apply a coat of Modge Podge to your paper front first and let dry and it really helps keep the bubbles down. I then cut the Cricut Alphabet uppercase on the font 3 button at 3 inches. I cut it from brown cardstock and attached with Modge Podge. I also cut some small leaves to add to the corners around the letters. You can do these blocks for any occassion or holiday.

Exploring Cricut Challenge #2

This challenge we are focusing on the cartridge Celebrations over at Exploring Cricut. The image we are using is on page 111 the candy. I made a box with the designs. I got a paper mache box from Michaels or Hobby Lobby and gave it a base coat of white paint. I used Christmas paper for the top and the bottom of the box from Moxxie. I cut my candy for the sides of the box at 5 inches and I used some red fun flock to make the candy stand out a little. The top of the box is decorated with 10 inch cuts of the candy. I tied ribbons and added some trim. This was a fast project to make and will hold some candy for a gift at the holidays!

World Card Making Day!

Today is World Card Making Day and I did manage to get a few cards done. I had good intentions on starting early, but had a unexpected, but pleasant visitor. My friend Emily came in the afternoon and we whipped up a few cards. I need to get my card supply replenished instead of making them as I need them!

This card is like one I made for my own grandson Cameron a few years ago and a friend wanted me to make her nephew Cameron one too! I am going to enter this one in the Cricut blog . Hope you got some great cards done too!!!

I think I know why they call these challenges! This was one that was really hard for me. This weeks challenge at Papercutz is called Shake, Rattle and Roll. You are to make a Halloween card, layout, or papercraft using a digital, stamped, or cricut image of a skeleton or skull and crossbones, but make it CUTE not Spooky!!! Not sure how to make a cute skull and crossbones, but this is my card this week. I had to have this cute set of stamps from over at GinaK's called Holiday Basket! It has some really cute flowers to add to this adorable basket! I just had to do a couple quick, and I mean quick cards. Not much thought just wanted to play a little. I used colored pencils and blending pen for the coloring. Sorry pictures are not so great, my lighting is not good today for some reason.

This has been one of those weeks you do not wish on anyone. My brother-in-law passed away suddenly at age 46 in his sleep and it has been very emotional for the family. I like to deal with grief in a positive way by crafting and was able to do a few projects this week. I have a friend who is a local priest and he loves when I give him cards to send and he let me know that he needs some more cards, so I am busy making him some. Love that I can use scraps and not waste anything. Here is some things I made the the last couple days.

This week at PaperCutz, the challenge is to use a digital or cricut image of a ghost using only the colors of white, black, orange and purple! I used the CTMH Art Philosophy cartridge for the box and the tag and the ghost are from PaperDolls. I am loving the new CTMH and it is such a great cartridge and well worth the money for all that comes with it. If you would like to have this cartridge and I have a great friend who sells CTMH and will have her get in touch with you. I plan on making some of these for some special little people. My challenge is to make a zoo related card, layout, or papercraft using at least 2 animals, dimension and bling! My project is a page for my granddaughters first trip to the zoo. I do have the second page started but was not completed when I prepared this post. I made the heads on the animals dimensionized and added bling and stickles to the title. This weeks challenge at PaperCutz is a Back to School. My children are all grown with children of their own and they struggle getting back into the swing of things and routines again. Summer is way too short nowdays and wish they did not have to go back till September like it use to be when I grew up. This weeks challenge is to make a card, layout, or papercraft in a Back to School theme and it is a 1, 2, 3 challenge too! Use 1 ribbon, 2 buttons, and 3 colors of paper. I have a friend who is a teacher and she has already gone back to school this week so I made her this tissue box cover. I used some Bazzill cardstock, Bo Bunny pattern papers, cut the tag for her name from a Spellbinder Nestibilities die. I used the cricut cartridge Making the Grade too. I also ran the decorative side pieces and top piece through the Cuttlebug too. This was really fun to make and she loved it! I have made a few for the different seasons at my house too. New Cards

This week two of my friends, scrapping buddies, and former customers lost their husband and father. These two ladies lost a wonderful man. He was very supportive of his wife hobby and a great man. He will be missed by all. I pray for the family to get through their time of grief. I made these two cards to send to them. I struggle with Sympathy cards as much as going to a visitation and funeral. I hope they like them.

My Mojo Monday entry

I am trying to get back into the swing of things with my crafting and trying to sell some of the stuff left from closing the store. Clean bill of health!

I had my back surgery 7 weeks ago and a few days ago I went in for my check up. The Dr. said I was healing great and the back brace could come off! I think he saw the panic in my face and told me it would become a crutch if I did not stop using it. I explained that without it my back hurt and he told me to expect that and I had to build muscle back so start doing things. Of course, he was right and it is not as bad as it once was. He gave me a copy of the xray which showed the nuts and bolts he put in very clearly (I know they have technical names). My granddaughter Mary-Kate thought it was cool. I guess now maybe I can retire and do something! All this finally ended exactly one year to the day I closed my store. Was a long hard year of drs and pain, but it is behind me a future of good times now and some merchandise to still sell from the store....ebay I am getting for some big sales!!!

It can be sun, clouds, moon, stars etc. the imagination can take over with this one. I made this cute 2 page layout to use with the park and my granddaughter playing on the slide and swings. It's called the "funk"

Yep, I have it! Can't seem to create anything this week at all that looks halfway decent. Not sure what is going on with my mojo, but for sure it has gotten up and gone! I guess the crafters "funk" has bitten me. I have soooo much to do and the time to do it, but no desire at all. I guess this recovery period after the surgery is about to get on my last nerve and I still have 3 more weeks to go. They say you can't do this or that and wearing this heavy back brace in the heat is for the birds! I keep looking at the swimming pool calling my name and glad it has been raining for a few days because I would be paying it a visit. I have got all the shows I have DVR'd watched, watching a lot of "In Session", HLN, and The Talk. I have even been watching the many reruns of Law and Order. I have been sorting through my craft stuff trying to clean out what will never get used and working on stuff for a yard sale, but not interested in that either. I hope the "funk" will end soon, but till then, back to TV....lol

Since I can't do anything much since my surgery, I have been scrapbooking and a little cardmaking. I made a few cards to send for thank you's but neglected to take pictures of them duh! I made a couple more last night, but have not added any sentiment yet until I know what and who they will go to. I used Close to my Heart cardstock and papers for these cards. I know my dear friend Emily who sells the paper to me will love these! Thanks for stopping by.

Paper Cutz Challenge #94

Luckily I had a project completed to use for this challenge this week over at PaperCutz. We would love you to join us this week with your own beach or travel theme. I am a little late posting this today because I had lumbar spinal surgery this week and just got home late Wednesday and moving kind of slow right now, but I will be as good as new in a couple weeks or so. My recovery time is long, but each day I feel stronger. I am wearing a back brace and getting around with a wheel walker which I named "Blue Lighting". I had my surgery Tuesday morning and am home. They did the surgery, but the rest is up to me. I need to take it slow, but walk several times daily with a walker and wear a back brace. One of the nurses there had my exact surgery so that gave me lots of encouragment seeing how good she gets along. I did not sleep at all in the hospital because they had an elderly lady across the room screaming all night long and again, it is not home. My super husband is home this week to attend to my needs and a couple of my neighbors brought meals. They were much appreciated since Joe can't cook. I am so lucky to have people around who take care of me. I get staples out in 4 weeks and after that I can start doing some exercises with the walker and some sitting. The recovery is long, but not if I can help it. Thanks to all of you I received messages from and prayers. I am so grateful for them and hope with the continued prayers I will be back my orney self in no time. Bless you all.

Challenge #93 At Papercutz

This week over at Papercutz the challenge is to make a card, layout or papercraft using a banner. I decided to use a banner to put the name of my granddaughter. I love this paper from Close to my Heart and I stamped on it too. It took me a long time to get this done because I am still battling pain on my right side. I had a cyst pushing on my nerve and the dr. burst it a couple weeks ago, but it came back within 10 days even bigger. I will be going to the hospital to have it removed this time. Not looking forward to it at all. I will try to get my other challenges ready before I go. Please join us this week for this challenge.

This weeks challenge is to make a card, layout, or papercraft to thank your favorite teacher. My card is very simple this week. I had 10 great days pain free and then it has come back with a vengence!! The cyst that was pushing against the nerve was blown up, but now they are not sure if there were more than one or that one filled back up. I had another MRI yesterday and Tuesday and Thursday next week I will meet with my doctors. It may be some surgery in the near future for me. I will work hard even though I am fighting lots of pain to get all my challenges in. I truly enjoy them. I just want to be able to get back to scrapping too real soon. I had this post all ready to go and all I had to do was hit the button, but when something went down at blogspot, I lost my draft so I will do it again. This week at PaperCutz, our challenge is to make a card, layout, or papercraft for graduation. We usually get several invites each year because my husband referees basketball and volleyball and sees these kids year after year. This challenge got me started on those cards. This is the colors of one of our local schools and I used the cartridge "A Child's Year'' to cut out the hat. I also used the cuttlebug. Please join us and let us see your creation.

This weeks challenge at PaperCutz is to make a Mother's Day project. I made a simple, but elegant looking card. With all the cricut cartridges we have, it is fun creating. I can not believe how much I love this machine and I am even loving my new Expression 2 more!!! I popped the flowers on the card and added pearls and used a new Martha Stewart punch at the bottom. My newest toy!!!!

My newest little toy has arrived and I have played a little bit with it. It has so many features and with what little I have played, I am loving the paper guides and the light on the blade. I really like the 4 cartridges that are included with it. They have some really cute images. One thing I like is that I can use Imagine cartridges too. I would have never bought one because the ink would run into my cartridge buying money and I like cutting, so this will give me the best of both worlds. Now I have to purchase some Imagine cartridges that I have been eyeing. I can't wait till I can play more, but when I was registering it this morning, I found that I am soooo behind in registering my cartridges. I think I have 66 that need registering since the first of the year. I will start doing that tomorrow. I am watching videos and reading the instructions to see all the great things this machine does. Love watching the videos because I am one that has to see it first hand. I did try a cut with the Gypsy hooked up and the light did not come on then so I am sure they have more updates to make which makes it all the more appealing. Still not sure whether I am selling my old Expressions or not. I have kept my baby bug for when my granddaughter comes so she can make her own cuts.

New Challenge at Paper Cutz

This week our challenge at PaperCutz is anything goes! Do whatever layout, card or craft project you like in any theme. This is one of the layouts I created for the Cricut challenge for the 5th birthday. I did not win, but it was fun to do a few layouts to enter. I have never done that before and it was fun. I used a variety of cartridges and will use this for my granddaughters birthday which is coming in June. She loves Minnie and all the Disney characters. Come and join us this week with your project.

I haven't been able to enter many challenges lately, but decided to try to sit long enough to complete one from over to Cooking with Cricut. I love Melinda's blog and all her wonderful creations. For this layout I used the cartridges April Showers, Lacy Labels, and Lyrical Letters. I can't wait to find the right pictures to add to this layout.

I was so excited to watch the HSN presentation of the Cricut Expressions 2, that I stayed up to watch the midnight reveal. As soon as I saw some of the great features it has, I knew it had my name on it. I purchased within the first 15 minutes!!! I taped the show and continued to watch throughout the day because with each presentation, I heard more. I should have it next week and I can't wait!!! I think a couple of the things I liked the best were the light on the blade and the paper guide. So many times I get it going crossways. I love the no overlays needed and how it brings up each button images clearer. I do have the gypsy, but will like this as well. I can't wait till the Cricut Craft Room is ready!

This week over to PaperCutz, we are to make a card, layout, or craft project using pink, green, blue, purple and white. You can use a little black, but do whatever them you like! I admit my project was very simple and easy because I was having a really bad week health wise, but after yesterdays visit to a new specialist we finally found the problem. I am definately not happy that two professionals who are suppose to be able to read MRI's totally missed something that was causing me severe pain which they thought I was over reacting to the pain for what they said was wrong. Yesterday I got a treatment that will ease the pain till we try another procedure before having surgery. Now enough about me, and please join our challenge and let us see what you have created!!!!!

I decided to do a card with this cute stamp and I am pleased hour it turned out. I just used scraps for the card and a punch. I am glad Easter is a little later this year so that it might be a nice sunny day for the egg hunting and all the enjoyment the children have after dinner. I know my grandchildren love hunting eggs because they know they are loaded with money!! This week over at PaperCutz our challenge is to make a layout, card, or papercraft with the Easter theme in any colors you like! I decided to do a couple pages for this weeks challenge. I used the Easter 2010, Simply Charmed and Holiday cakes for this project. I think the paper I used was from a Spring stack I had and the cardstock was Bazzill. I am so ready for summer to get here and time to think about those summer activities that we will need to scrap. I am finally getting to post a few layouts I did while on a scrapbooking weekend with friends recently. I think I completed 42 layouts that weekend and still have a few more to finish before I have completed my granddaughter Mary-Kate's 2009 album. I am so behind, but anxious to get caught up now that I am feeling better. Retirement has not been as great as it should be because of some health issues, but hopefully will all be behind me soon. Thanks for looking at my layouts.
